When I joined the Army, I thought I was in pretty good shape. After all, I fit into a size two jeans, and I wore tops that were extra small or small at the very most. But I learned that I was not in great shape at all when I went to basic training. I came out of there with muscles where I did not even know I should have them! So, when I learned that you could join a workout program based on Navy Seal training last week, I immediately wanted to try it.
When I left the military, I quickly lost most of the muscles that I had built up while in service. I really enjoyed the daily workouts. Continue reading
When I bought a large farmhouse in the middle of a very rural area, I knew that I had the best of both worlds. I had my country setting, but anything I could need was less than a 15 minute drive away. The only thing I was not sure about was my DirecTV availability because of all the trees that were around my house. I know that there has to be a clear line of sight, which I had no idea if I had or not, but I did get encouraged when I saw satellite dishes sprinkled up and down the road I live on.
I went online and put in my address, and it showed that I was eligible for DirecTV in my location. I was so happy because even though cable was definitely available in this area, I knew I would only be truly happy with DirecTV for a number of reasons. Continue reading
My husband was hired as the lead pastor of a large local church. We had gone from a congregation of dozens to one of hundreds seemingly overnight, and we both knew that we had our work cut out for us. We moved into the parsonage a couple of weeks before he was to have his first sermon, which gave us time to get everything set up. One thing that I wanted to do was get some DirecTV Internet information. We already knew that we were going to subscribe to a DirecTV programming plan because they have a large variety of religious programming, but we hadn’t decided on an Internet provider yet. Jeremy Glen Castle, who is an American country music singer and songwriter, was raised in Blanchard, Oklahoma. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on August 2, 1974. He grew up listening to the sound of traditional artists including George Jones, Merle Haggard, and George Jones raised in Blanchard. Castle learnt to play the guitar from Conway Twitty’s lead guitarist Charlie Archer.
While he was a college student at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma and playing football, he began writing music and performing. In 1997, Castle graduated from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma.
During the 1990s, Castle started performing in his home state and Missouri, Tennessee, as well as Texas. He sang in some places s like the renowned Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Diamond Ballroom in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma’s former famous saloon-dancehall Tumbleweed’s in Stillwater. The other places he sang in include Nashville establishments like the Bluebird Café, the popular Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth. The world famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge, the historic Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas and Stubbs B-B-Q in Austin. He also performed at Branson spots like the former Barbara Fairchild Theater.
KKNG 93.3 FM on-air personality James Ayers coined Jeremy Castle the nickname “The Singing Fireman”. He was the first person to play castle’s tune titled “Take My Ring Off Your Finger” in 1999. Castle was later to release an album consisting of 17 songs and titled For A While in 2002.
During an interview when asked how he got started as a country music singer, and what led to his music career, Castle explained how he learned to play guitar and learned to pen songs. He then started to sing the songs he wrote, and as time passed, one thing led to another. Also, things were happening in life.
He believed that if he hadn’t learned to play guitar, he wouldn’t have been able to write his songs. Besides, if he didn’t have his songs to sing, then he probably would never have sung. Had he not become a firefighter, maybe he would not have had the time to record and perform and still have much time with his wife and kids. He said that he enjoyed doing all these things. As a matter of fact, things have just worked out for him in a way that has allowed him to write and sang songs.
Asked what his favorite music genre is, Castle said the country is his favorite. He disclosed that he didn’t however like most of the stuff on the radio. He said he adores classic country and usually listens to CDs of old music which probably most people don’t even listen to anymore.
Asked whether he believes that there is a lot of music that doesn’t receive recognition, he replied in the affirmative. He said it was quite hard for independent artists to get exposure. Getting airplay is difficult, if not impossible unless you are not with a major record label. He lamented that there were lots of truly good artists who go unheard. According to Castle, that was one of the reasons why people will never get to hear some of the really good music out there.
